The 130th session of the Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, which is to be known as the "Nature’s Life and Beauty" Session, will be held Sept. 27-29 at Kalahari Resort, 7000 Kalahari Drive, Sandusky.
Michelle Howell, Worthy Grand Matron, of Carrollton, and William (Bill) Cox, Worthy Grand Patron, of Brecksville, will preside over the sessions.
An open installation of the 2019-20 Grand Officers will close the Grand Chapter Session on Sept. 29. Margaret (Margi) Wheeler, of Gallipolis, will be installed as Worthy Grand Matron and Charles (Chuck) Merckle, of New Matamoras, will be installed as Worthy Grand Patron.
Other officers include: Michelle Howell, of Clarksville, Gayle Sutherin, of Marion, Carol Gramm Wise, of Lima, Cynthia Chadwell, of Grove City, and Rita Dropsey, of Mansfield.
The Order of the Eastern Star is the largest fraternal organization in the world to which both men and women may belong and through which members contribute time, energy, and talent to their local communities with charity truth and loving-kindness.
While the Order of the Eastern Star has evolved over time, it remains rooted in charitable endeavors and fraternal fellowship and offers its members a wide variety of opportunities for personal growth and community involvement.
The State of Ohio Grand Chapter is divided into 14 regions, 28 districts and a myriad of chapters in each district.
