On Thursday, Aug. 17, Barnesville will host Buckeye Local at Shamrock Stadium in the Ohio High School Athletic Association-approved Jamboree Football Games.
"A Jamboree is a contest played in accordance with a 'game-like' tune up prior to the first official game and will give school athletic departments an additional revenue-generating activity. In addition, schools that sponsor a Jamboree must contribute a portion of the income to the OHSAA to help defray the cost of providing catastrophe accident insurance coverage."
At 6:30 p.m., Buckeye Local and Barnesville 7th and 8th grade teams will play a half.
Following the 7th and 8th grade contest, the Varsity squads with compete in one-half of action.
Buckeye Local and Barnesville JVS teams will conclude the evening in a "game-like" tun-up lasting a half.
The Buckeye Local High School Marching Band will perform prior to the varsity game.
The Barnesville Football Moms will be having raffles and a 50/50 drawing. The Band Boosters will operate the concessions. There will be a $4 admission charge for all spectators attending.
