Barnesville 16, Bridgeport 2
BRIDGEPORT -- Visiting Barnesville High had its offense in high gear on Wednesday rolling to a 16-2 win over Bridgeport in varsity baseball action.
The 'Rocks banged out a total of 15 hits in the victory with Nathan Clark ripping three singles with a pair of RBIs, while Jarrod Kernen added a double and single with an RBI. Brady Treherne chipped in with two singles while Jacob Gallaway and Alex Meade each stroked doubles with two RBIs for the winners.
Zach Thompson collected the win on the mound in a relief outing, working five innings with five Ks and no walks to improve his season mark to 4-1.
Barnesville 2, Caldwell 1
WASHINGTON, PA - Runs were at a premium as Barnesville and Caldwell battled at Consol Energy Park, home of the Washington Wild Things, with the Shamrocks scoring the winning run in the bottom of the fifth for a 2-1 victory on Thursday.
Barnesville starter Zach Huntsman got the pitching win, striking out four and walking one before giving way to Jagger Jefferis in the seventh. Jefferis notched a save by posting three Ks and one walk.
Caldwell's Clark Jennings took the loss in a complete-game effort, fanning two and walking three.
Brady Treherne had two singles and drove in both runs for Barnesville (19-7) while Caldwell (9-14) managed just three singles.
