Union Local 12 Buckeye Trail 9

OLD WASHINGTON -- Despite jumping out to an early 7-4 lead, host Buckeye Trail could not hang on and dropped a 12-9 non-league decision to Union Local on Monday.

The Warriors tallied five runs in the home half of the opening inning and tacked on two more in the bottom of the second, but the Jets recorded seven unanswered runs and escaped with the victory.

Dylan Beaver started on the mound for Buckeye Trail (3-11) and took the loss fanning four and walking two in three innings of work before being relieved by Zach Grafton who hurled two innings with four Ks and four walks.

Starting on the hill for Union Local was Nik Bilyeau who recorded three Ks and two free passes in 1.2 innings of work followed by winning pitcher, Ty Kildow who threw four shut-out innings with a pair of strikeouts.

Pacing the Warriors' offense was Justin Paden with a double, single and a game-high three RBI followed by Geno CizMadia with a pair of doubles, Carter Streiff with an RBI-double, Justin Jones with a double and Grafton with a pair of safeties and RBI.

Shane Smolenak led the way for the Jets with two singles and an RBI while Cody Ray added an RBI-double and Bilyeau chipped in with a single and two RBI.

Barnesville 14 Bridgeport 11

BARNESVILLE -- It was an old fashioned slug fest at the Barnesville Park on Monday with the host Shamrocks coming out on top of a 14-11 score over the visiting Bridgeport Bulldogs.

Barnesville jumped out to a 10-1 lead through the first three innings and then had to hold off the hard-charging Bulldogs for the three-run victory.

Kaelan Hannahs picked up the mound win for the Shamrocks fanning three, but walking seven. Alex Meade came on in the sixth and added one strikeout. Dillon Nowakoski took the pitching loss with relief help from Jeremiah Booker in the fourth frame. The duo combined for five strikeouts and nine walks.

Barnesville (16-5) out hit Bridgeport 13-9 led by Seth Gordan with an "inside the park" homer, while Brady Treherne added a triple and signle, Catcher Jarrod Kernen had a double, while Cade Hannahs, Kaelan Hannahs, Zane Huntsmam, and Aaron Marovich had two singles each. Emilio Saldana had a triple and two singles to pace Bridgeport.

Barnesville 3 Harrison Central 1

CADIZ - Visiting Barnesville snapped a deadlock at one with a pair of runs in the eighth inning to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Harrison Central Huskies Tuesday.

Both teams tallied a single run in the fifth inning and the tie stood up through the seventh forcing the extra inning. The Shamrocks pushed across two runs in the top of the eighth and Zach Thompson sat the Huskies down in the bottom to preserve the win.

Thompson, in relief of starter Zane Huntsman picked up the mound win working the last three innings with two strikeouts and a walk. Huntsman had two Ks and a walk in the first five innings of action. Logan Starr suffered the hard-luck loss in relief of starter Chance Hersey with the duo combining to fan three, but gave up eight free passes.

Both teams collected just five hits with Barnesville (17-5) paced by Jarrod Kernen with a double, while Nathan Clark added a pair of singles. Catcher Tyler Reddish led the Huskies at the plate with two singles.

MORRISTOWN -- Host Union Local cooled off a streaking Barnesville High team on Wednesday with a 8-0 victory.

The visiting 'Rocks might have been caught looking ahead to Friday's OVAC 3A championship game with Fort Frye.

UL used a huge five-run fifth inning to collect the victory.

Cody Ray tossed six shutout innings to pick up the win for the Jets, finishing with four KS and two walks.

Barnesville (17-6) was held to just three hits with Aaron Marovich, Jarrod Kernen and Kaelan Hannahs each banging out singles.
