This past October, the Buckeye Buckmasters Chapter of the BADF teamed up with Dakota Outfitters to provide the hunt of a lifetime for one lucky local veteran.

The recipient of this year's hunt was Robert Haines from Millersburg, Ohio. Robert owns and operates International Packaging also located in Millersburg. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1983-1987 and was stationed on the USS Midway abroad for 3 of those years; including a stint during the Beirut bombings . Robert has also been batting brain cancer for the past year and a half. He was accompanied in the stand by his son Ryan Haines and his good buddy Gary Fischer. Robert was successful in harvesting a beautiful 190 class 19 point buck after four days of hard hunting.

As an extra bonus, Ben Riggenbach of Mossy Rock Taxidermy in Woodsfield, Ohio offered to mount Robert's buck free of charge, complete with an American Flag custom made plaque.

The Buckeye Buckmasters Chapter would like to thank Robert for his service to our country and for providing us all with the liberties we so dearly cherish. Also, a very special thanks to Eric Stonecipher and Jim Moses from Dakota Outfitters near Quaker City, Ohio for donating the hunt and the use of their beautiful lodge, and also to Ben Riggenbach of Mossy Rock Taxidermy for his support of the BADF and his respect for our veterans.
