BARNESVILLE - It was a home run derby for the Barnesville High softball squad in its dominant 11-0 victory over visiting Shenandoah on Monday.

The Lady Shamrocks belted four home runs in the victory and head coach Leslie Skinner was more than pleased with her team's offensive productivity.

"We have been waiting for these girls to come around with their hitting," offered Skinner. "The hitting was huge tonight and I am really proud of the girls."

Regan Hanlon tossed five shutout innings for the Lady 'Rocks while only giving up two hits and striking out three Lady Zeps.

"Regan is only a freshman," noted Skinner. "I am so proud of her and she did great for us tonight."

Sydney Mackie and Whitni Blubaugh collected the lone hits for Shenandoah.

It was Aaron Hannahs, Brianna Bohandy, Hunter Miller and Baylie MacMillan drilling the home runs for Barnesville. Miller's and MacMillan's home runs came back to back in the fourth inning sealing the deal for the Lady 'Rocks.

Beallsville 6,

SARAHSVILLE -- Host Shenandoah High came up just short in a slim 6-5 setback to the hands of Beallsville in softball action on Tuesday.

The Lady Zeps (0-4) put up one run in each of the first three innings, but the Lady Blue Devils countered with a three-run third inning to the affair at 3-3 entering the fourth. Beallsville took a 6-3 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh where Shenandoah plated two more runners but could not complete the comeback.

"We made a run for it in the seventh," said Shenandoah coach Stacy Trenner. "We had three doubles in the inning but fell just short, it was definitely a heartbreaker."

Kara Trenner (0-2) recorded 11 strikeouts and 10 walks on the mound for the Lady Zeps and suffered the loss.

Trenner paced the Shenandoah offense with a home run, a pair of doubles and three RBIs.

Caldwell 16, Barnesville 6

BARNESVILLE - Caldwell High did it with hitting in game one and pitching in game two to earn a 16-6, 2-1 sweep of host Barnesville on Saturday.

In game one, the Lady Redskins pounded out 20 hits, with Alyssas Leasure carrying the big bat with a triple, two doubles, a single and five RBI.

Four girls had a triple and two singles each - Miki Lowers, Lexie Weisend, Maria Blaker and Gabbi Clift - with Lowers and Weisend driving in two runs each while Blaker and Clift had one RBI apiece. Haylee parks chipped in a double.

For Barnesville, Hunter Miller had a double, single and two RBI; Baylie MacMillen had two singles and anj RBI; Abby Gibbons smacked a triple and Erin Hannahs had an RBI double.

Lowers got the pitching win with three strikeouts and two walks.

In game two, Lowers again won in the circle, this time with a 10-strikeout, no-walk performance.

Kendra Kelso led Caldwell (4-2) with a double and single while Parks had two singles.

Miller collected a triple for Barnesville (2-2).
