VIRGINIA BEACH, VA -- Barnesville High senior Caide Bunfill put the finishing touches on his final wrestling season by competing in the 2017 NHSCA High School Nationals last weekend.

Bunfill, a two-time all-Ohioan on the mat (he finished seventh as a junior and fourth as a senior), posted a 4-2 record at the Nationals.

Competing in the 220-pound senior division, he opened with a 16-1 tech fall over J. Marquis of Connecticut and followed that up with a 13-1 decision over D. Baker of Georgia.

Bunfill then suffered a pin at the hands of S. Aguilar in 1:34 in the Round of 16, but he bounced back with a 10-0 decision over M. Mastrangelo of New York and a forfeit win over E. Kimber of Minnesota before losing his second match, 6-3, to J. Marcano of Florida to finish one win shy of placing.
