The Rotary Club of Barnesville proudly announces their sponsorship and support of the Barnesville Park Rotary Lake 5k Trail Run and Walk. The event, now in its 6th year, kicks off at 9:15 a.m. while the kids’ fun run begins shortly after the last participant crosses the finish line. The 5k course, while challenging, offers something different from most typical 5k events: It is held completely inside Barnesville’s unique, beautiful park. Participants run on the Shamrocks’ Cross-Country course through the woods, around the lake, on the park trail. Rather than the typical, boring T-shirts, pre-registered participants have their choice of a hooded sweatshirt. Race-day supplies will be extremely limited. 98 unique, hand-crafted awards will be handed out in various categories and divisions. Based on last year’s numbers, that’s nearly one for every two participants. Plenty of pizza and other refreshments provided courtesy of Emerald Pointe Rehabilitation will be available to all after the race. Everyone is eligible for door prizes. All kids’ race finishers win an award. Applications for this event may be viewed and downloaded from our sister event web site: You can register online at:
