UHRICHSVILLE — Coming off their first loss of the season, Union Local High rebounded to post a 51-37 victory over Coshocton to open the Division III Sectional Tournament at Claymont High School.
The Jets (21-1) grabbed an early 15-11 lead after the opening quarter and never looked back.
Sophomore Trenton Tipton led the Union Local attack with 18 points, while sophomore Kaleb McDiffitt returned from a knee injury to contribute nine points along with junior Gavin Porter who also tallied nine. David Paulick chipped in with eight markers and hauled down seven rebounds, while Colton McKivitz finished with seven points and 12 boards.
Coshocton (4-19) was paced by Damon Miller with 15 points.


Union Local 47, Sandy Valley 29
UHRICHSVILLE — Union Local High made it a perfect 2-for-2 in the Division III Sectional Tournament at Claymont High School with a 47-29 win over Sandy Valley on Saturday.
The Jets jumped out to a 13-6 lead after the first quarter and maintained the lead the rest of the way.
Trent Tipton led the Jets with 13 points, while David Paulick was right behind with 12 and pulled down 11 rebounds and Gavin Porter finished with 11 for the winners.
Union Local improved to 22-1 with the win, while Sandy Valley finishes its season at 8-16.
Sandy Valley failed to get anyone into double figures, with Cory Neisel leading the way with seven.
