(St.Clairsville, OH) Franciscan visited the Health and Recreation center on the campus of Ohio University Eastern after church Sunday looking to upend the home-standing Panthers and that they did. After a back an forth first half that saw the Green and White take a 30-29 lead into intermission, the Barons came out of the locker room steaming and outscored the Panthers 64-27 to cruise to a 93-57 victory. This was the first time in five years that the Barons were able to beat the Panthers. With the loss, OUE falls to (0-2).
The Green and White were led in scoring by Shadyside product Nick Schuetz with 17. He was followed by Devin Ward's 12 points and Brandt Thieman's first career double double as he pumped in 12 points while grabbing 10 rebounds. The Panthers go on the road Tuesday night as the take on the always tough WVU Parkersburg.
