BELLAIRE Going on the road proved to be a positive experience for Barnesville High as the Lady Shamrocks picked up a pair of volleyball wins over Linsly and host St. John Central on Thursday.

The Linsly match wasnt close as the Lady Rocks dominated by scores of 25-11, 25-11.

Pacing the winning effort was setter Paige Huntsman with eight assists. Fellow setter Miranda Plumly added six assists to go along with six kills.

Serving stars for the match were Layna Broomhall and Hunter Weiss, who combined for seven aces. Marissa Burga led with five digs.

The second match saw St. Johns put up more of a fight, but Barnesville (16-3) prevailed by scores of 25-20, 25-16.

Defense keyed the win as Sydney Bruces 17 digs were vital. Weiss added 11 digs and Burga chipped in nine.

Huntsman and Broomhall each dished out 11 assists while Plumly and Burga both pounded 10 kills.

NEXT Barnesvilles next match is Thursday at home against Bellaire at 5:30 p.m.
