Fridays honorary captain is Mr. Sam Reynolds. Sam wore jersey #65 for the Shamrocks. He played guard and linebacker for Coach John Hutchisons teams and graduated in 1975.
Sam was a three-year football letter winner during the fall seasons of 1972, 73 and 74. It was during Sams junior season the Shamrocks finished 7-3. Sam was named OVAC AA Honorable Mention All-Star. During his senior season the Shamrocks finished 6-4. Sam was an OVAC AA 1st team All-Star Linebacker. He was named Co-Captain of the OVAC team. He was also the Intell All-Valley 1st team linebacker his senior season. Sam received a Special Team Award his senior season as he was named team MVP.
Sam also played linebacker in the 1975 Ohio-WV All-Star game. His wife, Eula, was the Shamrock Queen representative.
The Ohio squad dropped an 8-0 decision to the WV squad. Sam also lettered two years in wrestling and four years in baseball. He was an Intell All-Valley selection in baseball as a catcher. His senior year, the Shamrocks were crowned ECOL Baseball Champs!
Sam attended Marietta College and graduated in 1979 with a BA in Management/Economics. He received his Masters in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University.
Sams athletic career at Marietta College was also very successful. He played four years of football and was named All-OAC in 1978. As a tight end in 1978 he was the teams leading receiver. He was also awarded Most Efficient Offensive Linemen: in 1977 & 1978. Sam also played three years of baseball at Marietta.
Sam resides in Knoxville, Tennessee where he is President and CEO of Vinylex Corporation. His wife, the former Eula Conlon, also a BHS grad, is currently a Clinical Specialist for American Medical Technologies.
Sam and Eula have three wonderful sons. Lee resides in Iowa with his wife and two sons. Lee graduated from Northern Iowa and played fouryears of football at NIU. He is manager for Jeld-Wen Corportation. Matthew, resides in Denver, Colorado, with his wife. Matt graduated from Austin Peay University and played baseball. He currently pitches in the major league for the Colorado Rockies. Mitch, resides in Memphis, Tenessee. He graduated from Cumberland University where he played four years of football. Mitch is currently completing his degree in Physical Therapy.
