Barnesville High School Junior Christopher Baker has been awarded the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference small school boy swimmer of the year. The awarded was given by the OVAC swim coaches. Baker won gold medals in the boys 200 Individual Medley and the boys 500 free in the 2012 OVAC Swim Championships in February 2012. Baker holds Barnesville High School records in the 200 free(1:54.85), 500 free (4:57.28), 100 Breast ( 1:09.01) and the 200 IM (2:04.70).

Baker has qualified for Ohio High School State Championships in 2010 and 2012; as well as qualifying for district swim for the past three seasons. He will return to BHS as a senior this coming fall. He is also a member of the JB Chambers Y swim team out of Wheeling, W.Va., where he has qualified for Y Zones Teams.

Christopher is a three-year letterman on the BHS Swim Team and has been a member of the Barnesville Summer Swim Team for 10 years. Christopher is the son of Chris and Tia Baker of Barnesville, Ohio.
