Caldwell 3, Beallsville 2

BEALLSVILLE -- Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, the host Beallsville Blue Devils loaded the bases against the visiting Caldwell Redskins, but managed just one run to knot the score as Tyler McElfresh relieved Redskin starter Tyler Willey with no outs to put out the fire.

In the top of the sixth, the Redskins (5-12) pushed across a run to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Blue Devils.

McElfresh (2-2) garnered the pitching win with his relief effort and he and Willey combined to strike out seven and walks eight. Logan Nippert took the loss despite fanning 10 batters and walking three.

Caldwell banged out six hits led by Willey with a double and single, McElfresh added two singles and Darren Hesson smashed a RBI triple.

Beallsville (4-18) was led at the plate by Nippert with a pair of singles.
