Host Barnesville High plated six runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead, then held off a seventh inning rally by Union Local to claim a 8-7 win on Wednesday.

Mitchell Well got the start, but reliever Cody Flynn (3-0) picked up the win for BHS with Ian Wells getting the final out of the seventh frame to earn a save. The three pitchers combined for three strikeouts and six walks.

Eric Dunfee suffered the loss for Union Local with four strikeouts and five walks with Willie Brokaw coming on in the sixth to record one strikeout and one walk.

Both teams collected eight hits, with Preston Dornon leading Barnesville (14-7) with a pair of doubles. Nate Wehr and David Brown each added a pair of singles and Zack Dornon had a double. Brokaw and Austin Curry each smacked a double and single to pace Union Local (7-16).
