Both the 7th and 8th grade girls basketball teams won both their games last week.
For the seventh grade team, the St. Clairsville final game score was 42-12, and the Shadyside score was 36-15.
Against St. Clairsville, the 7th grade was led by Lauren Hanes, with 14 points. Brianna Bohandy had 12 points, Kayla Bunfill and Blake Castello had six points and Makayla Patrick and Mikayla Willis, both contributed two points. Barnesville was 0-0 from the stripe and St. Clairsville was 0-4 as well.
The 8th grade girls won their game by a score of 39-21. Sydney Ralston led all shooters with 14 points. Avery Hanlon netted 11 points, Shayla Markovich, added six points, while Bailey Ramsay, Katie Jackson, Nichole Farson, and Caitlyn Toohey had two points each. St. Clairsville was led by LeGrew with 10 points. Barnesville was 1-4 from the line for 25 percent and St. Clairsville was 3-10 for 30 percent.
Against Shadyside, the 7th grade was led by Brianna Bohandy with 14 points. Samantha Arigoni had six points. Blake Castello, Hannah Swallie and Makayla Patrick all had four points. Ciara Bauman and Brittany Butler each contributed two points.
Shadyside was led by Summer Baker with six points. Barnesville was 0-2 from the stripe while Shadyside shot 4-23 for 17.3 percent.
Against Shadyside, the 8th Grade Lady Rocks were led by Sydney Ralston, who drained another three pointer, leading with 17 points. Katie Jackson followed with a season high eight points. Shayla Markovich had seven points, Avery Hanlon, five points and Bailey Ramsay, four points. Nichole Farson and Caitlyn Toohey contributed two points each.
Shadyside was led by Lindsey Dunn with seven points. Barnesville shot two for 12 from the line for 16.6% and Shadyside shot 1-5 for 20 percent.
The 7th grade team now has a record of 4-2 and the 8th grade team remains undefeated with a record of 6-0. The girls play again today (Dec. 28) at Union Local and Monday, Jan. 2 at Caldwell. Game times are 5:30 p.m. Come out and support your future Lady Rocks!
