Barnesville 9, Monroe Central 5

BARNESVILLE -- With a head start provided by pitcher Ian Wells' no-hit bid that lasted nearly six innings, the Barnesville High baseball team beat visiting Monroe Central, 9-5, on Thursday.

Wells (2-0) earned the victory with relief from Zach Dornon. The pair struck out seven batters and walked six.

Barnesville (12-5) was led at the plate by Dornon with a triple and a single, while Austin Hannahs, Dylan Macmillan and Mason Plumly each singled twice.

Piatt led Monroe Central with a triple, driving in a pair of runs.
