OLD WASHINGTON -- In a triangular relay meet hosted by Buckeye Trail High featuring Barnesville and Union Local, several local athletes enjoyed solid performances on Thursday.
Union Local won both meets, while Trail took second and Barnesville was third.
In the girls' meet, the Lady Jets scored 71 points followed by Trail with 67 and Barnesville with 50.
Leading the Lady Warriors with first-place finishes were Amy Fisher in the 200-meter dash (29.98) and the 400-meter dash (1:05); Alissa Bodner in the 300-meter hurdles (53.31); Teracyn Rich in the high jump (4-7); Raelene Frame in the long jump (13-8); the 3200-meter relay team of Annessa Butler, Samantha Schaeffer, Melinda Nelson and Jocelyn George (11:52); and the 800-sprint medley team of George, Samantha Evans, Maddison Stephens and Bree Banks (2:12).
Taking first place for the Lady 'Rocks was Lina Partridge in the 1600-meter run (5:58), and Whitney Lucas in the shot put (28-4) and discus (79-0).
The Jets scored 85 to win the boys' meet, followed by Trail with 65 and Barnesville with 34.
Leading the Warriors with first-place finishes were Trevor Pontius in the 800-meter run (2:10); Austin Carleton in the high jump (5-10) and long jump (19-1); and the 400-meter relay team of Cody Evans, Pontius, Carleton and Mychal Patterson (46.54).
Winning events for the 'Rocks were Jesse Stoudt in the shot put (37-1) and Chris Baldridge in the discus (118-10).
NEXT-- Buckeye Trail hosts Caldwell and Monroe Central on Tuesday at 5 p.m. while Barnesville hosts Beallsville and Union Local the same day at 4:30 p.m.
