Barnesville boys place sixth at Shadyside RelaysSHADYSIDE -- Martins Ferry and Linsly tied for the boys' team title, while St. Clairsville walked away with the girls' crown in the annual Shadyside Relays on Saturday.In the boys' standings, Barnesville was sixth, Buckeye Trail took seventh and finished in Caldwell in a tie for ninth place. Local girls' teams standings were: Buckeye Trail tied for 14th place, Caldwell in 19th and Barnesville tied for 20th.The boys' team scores included: 1. Martins Ferry (90), 1. Linsly (90), 3. Claymont (5).Brandon Stephens and Wesley Lewis paced the Shamrocks with wins in the 800-meter run (2:04.35) and the 3200-meter run (9:59). Brennan DeLaney claimed second in the 1600-meter run (4:43.17).Austin Carleton led Buckeye Trail with a win in the high jump (6-0). Also earning points for the Warriors were the 4x800-meter relay team with a second (9:00.72), the 4x100-meter relay squad with a fourth (48.11) and the shuttle relay team with fourth place (1:09.55).Brandon Saling had a pair of third place finishes to lead Caldwell. He was third in the 800-meter run (2:12.25) and third in the 1600-meter run (4:47.63). Tyler Danford had a fourth place finish in the long jump (17-11);Tyler Abrams claimed sixth in the 400-meter dash (58.32) and Jonathan Niswonger finished sixth in the 3200-meter run (10:46.01).The girls' team scores included: 1.
