Bridgeport golfers best Shamrocks, Jets

MORRISTOWN — Visiting Bridgeport beat the rain and everyone else to improve to 20-8 on the year with wins over hosts Union Local and Barnesville in a triangular match at Crooked Creek Golf Course Wednesday.

The Bulldogs carded a team 181 to post the victory with the host Jets second at 194 and Barnesville came in at 205.

Bridgeport was paced by Jon Kreiter and Zach Herink each firing a 43, while Ryan Kasper was close behind with a 45 and Austin Uhl rounded out the team scoring with a 50.

Union Local had the match medalist as Trevor Mudrak shot a one-over 37. He was assisted by Josh Lucas (46), Shane Billeter with a 55 and Jared Cousby with a score of 56.

The Shamrocks of Barnesville (4-14) was led by Chris Doty who carded a 47 with J.C. Weiss close behind with a 48. Nate Wehr fired a 50 and Brian Clark came in at 60 to provide the 205 team score.

NEXT — Barnesville will join Buckeye Trail in the Ohio Valley Golf League Tournament at the Moundsville Country Club on Monday, Sept. 19.
