Barnesville took possession of the Milk Bucket trophy after defeating arch rival Union Local 39-20 Friday evening in Morristown.

In the top photo Shamrock first-year quarterback Zack Dornon breaks through the middle of the Jet’s defensive line. Dornon scored one touchdown, rushed for 105 yards and passed for another 147. Defending on the play, are the Jets: Mason Friede, (5) Jesse Keith, (32) Zack Palmer, (11) and Josh Smith (42).

The Shamrock’s leading rusher this season, averaging over a 100 yards per game, is Preston Dornon (lower photo) who picked up another 138 markers against the Jets and tallied two touchdowns. Here U.L.’s Eric Dunfee and Mason Friede wrap up Preston as he divides toward the end zone.

Union Local drove down the field with ease on their first possession and appeared to be in complete control as they built a 20-7 first quarter lead. Barnesville, winning for the third time in as many starts, responded by scoring three times in the second quarter and added another tally in the third and fourth quarters for 32 unanswered points.

Joining the Dornons in the scoring column was senior fullback Jesse Stoudt, who tallied two touchdowns, while picking up 73 yards rushing.

The Jet’s offense was paced by senior signal caller Robert Simpson, who rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns. All but 29 of those yards came during the first quarter.

The Shamrocks will be on the road again this Friday, when they travel to Old Washington to visit their nearest western neighbor Buckeye Trail. This game will start a half hour earlier than previous games with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
