Barnesville runners place second at homeBARNESVILLE -- The St. Clairsville Red Devils boys and girls cross countryteams had a successful venture to Barnesville on Wednesday, sweeping both the boys and girls meets.The Red Devils boys squad scored 25 for the win. Host Barnesville was runner up with 64, followed by Union Local (89), and Bellaire (111).St. Clairsville was led by Alex Thornburg, who took the win in 15:42. Josh Fitch from Union Local was second with a 16:01 and Brennan Delaney took third in 16:18. Barnesville's Wesley Lewis finished seventh with a time of 17:01.The Lady Red Devils of St. Clairsville blazed in with a score of 22, outpacing second place Barnesville, who turned in a 71. Shadyside followed with 91, while Union Local scored 97. Bellaire was fifth with 107.St.C's attack was spearheaded by the Perzanowski sisters, as Kelly took first in 18:26 and Jamie was second in 19:36. Barnesville's Karly Jones finished third with a time of 20:57.
