In 1797 Pope Pius said, "The democratic form of government is not repugnant to the gospel; on the contrary, it exacts all the sublime virtues which are learned only in the school of Jesus Christ." Our founding fathers agreed. When our nation stays true to Christian principles it cannot be destroyed. Yet it has changed. Who is behind it and why?

America changed from a democratic form of government to an imperial aristocracy. In 1869 President Andrew Johnson finished Lincoln's term, followed by Grant. Advisors to these men deceived them into signing laws which benefitted the financiers. Those who controlled the national finances controlled the authorities.

The power of this group was somewhat diminished by the Great Depression of 1933. They gained new strength by provisioning the various factions in World War II. America was the reigning industrial nation at the conclusion of the war. Those who returned found nearly full employment. However the constant desire for more (covetousness) has driven the economy out of control.

After the Kennedy assassination, Johnson, like Grant before him, gave us a plutocratic [wealthy ruling class] government with the Great Society of 1964. Reagan's attempt to undo this social experiment failed. Why?

The Muslim attack on the World Trade Towers in 2001 was evidence of decay and vulnerability. We have turned from Christian principles embodied in our founding documents. From Grant to Johnson we have gone from a Constitutional Republic to a plutocratic welfare state. If world history is any guide, we will proceed to a fascist state.

President Kennedy said, "Ask not what your country can do for you but ask what you can do for your country." A Biblical parallel would be, "Ask not what God can do for you but what you can do for God" to make America great again.
