Area Chamber of Commerce for its sponsorship. The Grand Prix is comprised of four run/walk events in town: the Barnesville Park/Rotary Lake trail event in March, the Rails-to-Trails 5k in May, the Ryman & Terret Pumpkin Festival 5k in Sept., and the Corner Fitness Santa Sprint in December. The purpose of these events is to raise money for various nonprofit charities/organizations throughout the year. Secondly, it encourages and promotes a healthy lifestyle to people of all ages, sizes, and fitness levels. Finally, it promotes the wonderful people and businesses of Barnesville. The Chamber helps accomplish this through its sponsorship by giving participants an extra incentive: Barnesville Gold and free race entries. Considering the races drew nearly 1,000 people from 12 states and dozens of cities, and was promoted on numerous web sites the Village has received extra exposure in the name of many worthwhile causes.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the business who donated money and discounted goods, all the people who volunteered their time before, during, and after each event, all Village employees who helped in the planning, approval, and implementation of the events, all the local citizens who sat on their porches & cheered and didnt complain about the blocking of streets, parking spaces, and the re-routing of traffic during each event, and to all of the participants without which there would be no races.

If you get the chance, stop in and thank the Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce for helping us promote health, giving, and the Village.
