Frederick L. Miller

1942-2017

Frederick "Fred" L. Miller, 75, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Astoria Place of Barnesville. He was born on April 17, 1942 in Barnesville, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Clara (Burkhart) Miller.

Fred was a member of the Barnesville VFW Post 2792 and Barnesville Elks Lodge #1699. He worked in maintenance at Y&O Coal Company and Shamrock Conduit. He enjoyed his family, playing cards, playing horseshoes, and story telling.

In addition to his parents, Fred is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn L. (Froehlich) Miller on April 20, 2015; brothers, Vernon, George, Robert, and Thomas Miller.

Fred is survived by his children, Darren (Debbie) Miller, Kevin (Stephanie) Miller, Jeff Miller, and Tim (Pandora) Miller; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and sisters, Evelyn Cook, Mary Ann Bolon, and Rita (Larry) Griffith; and mother-in-law, Thelma Froehlich.

Visitation was held on Sunday, July 23, prior to a vigil service at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio 43713. Mass of Christian Burial was conducted on Monday, July 24 with Fr. Dave Cornett officiating at Assumption Catholic Church, 306 W. Main St., Barnesville, Ohio. Burial followed at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Barnesville.
