Stanley Sulek

1925-2017

Stanley J. Sulek, 92, of Lafferty, Ohio, died Monday, May 15, 2017 at Liza's Place. One of 12 children, he was born March 7, 1925 in Lafferty, Ohio to the late Martin Sulek and Teresa Scevetz Sulek.

He was retired from the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) Hollywood, California Studios and was one of the original members of the first TV station in Wheeling WTRF Channel 7. Stanley proudly served his country in the Air Force as a fighter pilot, during World War II.

Stanley is survived by his children, Ronald Alan Sulek and Donna Rae Sulek both of Tucson, Arizona; sister, Frances Burkhart of Barnesville, Ohio; brother, Mike Sulek of St. Clairsville, Ohio; and many other family members.

Honoring Stanley's wishes, there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, May 19 at the Assumption Catholic Church, 306 W. Main S.t, Barnesville, with Father Dave Cornett presiding. Interment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lafferty, Ohio, where Military Honors were presented.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Assumption Catholic Church, 306 Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio 43713 or Lafferty Fire Department, 70191 Irwin Street, P.O. Box 274, Lafferty, Ohio 43951.
