Anna "Viola" Reed, 102, of Barnesville was welcomed home, Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Barnesville. She was born June 29, 1914 in Batesville, daughter of the late James Forest Reed and Mary Catherine Atkinson Reed.
Viola was a member of Batesville United Methodist Church and was retired from the Department of Agriculture Farmers Home Administration, where she worked as Office Manager for many years. Living to be 102 is a remarkable achievement. For Viola, a woman of great strength, sensitivity, loyalty, and commitment to God, God gave her 102 years to share her resourcefulness, and exceptional insightfulness. She saw much, experienced a lot, and shared many stories and events that she had encountered during her lifetime. She lived life to the fullest and stated that she kept her mind sharp, active, and up-to-date by reading daily. Viola's positive attitude and zest for life was a gift she treasured and was enjoyed by many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Kathleen Reed.
Viola is survived by cousin, Robert Atkinson, as well as a host of many other cousins, and her Walton Home family and friends.
A special thank you to David Wilson and Gary Atkinson for their special devotion and the care they unselfishly gave to Viola.
