Ruth M. Johnson, 95, of Barnesville died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Barnesville on November 24, 1918 to the late Henry “Buck” and Olive (Sullivan) Jones.
Ruth was a member of the Barnesville First United Methodist Church and Barnesville OES Chapter #206.  Ruth was a cook for Somerton school, worked at the Mayfair store and was a volunteer for Barnesville Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Johnson; two brothers: Bobby and Jimmy Jones; sister, Viola Jones; and a foster son, Dave Mellott.
She is survived by her son, Dave (Judy) Johnson of Barnesville; foster-son, Frank (Susan) Myers of Lafferty; three grandchildren: Dick (Kelli) Johnson of Circleville, Jeff (Crystal) Johnson of Medina, and Matt (Mindy) Johnson of Barnesville; seven great-grandchildren: Meghan, Alisha, Payne, Jake, Jenna, Hank and Joey; and brother, John (Nadine) Jones of Memphis.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 10am until the time of the service at 2pm with Pastor Ted Buehl officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville.  Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery.  OES #206 will conduct a service on Tuesday at 1:45pm.
