Doris Eula Carpenter, 92, of Wheeling, West Virginia, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab. She was born October 16, 1920 in Belmont, Ohio, daughter of the late Jesse Leroy Masters and Olga Marie Pancoast Masters.
She was a 1937 graduate of Belmont High School and attended Cincinnati Bible Seminary. Doris was devoted to her church as a Sunday School Superintendent, teacher, organist, and pianist. She was a long time member of her church Missionary Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Walter Carpenter; son, Leslie Raymond Carpenter, sisters, Alice Corrine Haas, Evelyn Masters Patterson, and Jessie Marie Masters Mullen; brothers, Loring A. Masters and Donald Arlo Masters.
Doris is survived by her sons, Larry (Cathy) Carpenter of Wheeling, West Virginia and Gary (Jennifer) Carpenter of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania; sisters, Francis Iona Masters Wilkins of Barnesville, Ohio and Marlene Masters Smith of Bethesda, Ohio; grandchildren, Belinda (Neil) Armstrong, Lisa (Chris) George, Amy (Dan) Beyer, and Daniel Carpenter; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Marissa, Zayne, Maddy, Levi, and Brady.
The family would especially like to thank Steve and Dot Johnson for all the love and care they gave to Doris over the years.
Visitation is Thursday, October 25 at Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio. Minister Roger Murfin will be officiated. Interment followed at Chestnut Level Cemetery, Belmont, Ohio.
