Gary E. Vees, 80, of Barnesville, Ohio died Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Barnesville Health Care Center. He was born September 1, 1932 in Wheeling, West Virginia, son of the late Harry E. Vees and Margaret Corrine Vees.
He had been member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and most recently, Assumption Catholic Church. He worked as a salesman in the automobile industry for 35 years. Gary enjoyed coaching. He had a great love for and was an excellent fly fisherman. He was an avid Boston Celtics and Steelers’ fan. In his later years, he enjoyed his flower garden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Johnson.
Gary is survived by his wife of 60 years, Louise K. (Pack) Vees of Barnesville, Ohio; two daughters, Sharon Vees of Irvine, California and Rose Ann Classic of Charlotte, North Carolina; three sons, Christopher L. Vees of Barnesville, Ohio, George Vees of Sarasota, Florida, and Mark (Lucy) Vees of Laguna Niguel, California; five grandchildren, Carrie, Colby, Jennifer, Emily Rose, and Michael; and two great-grandchildren, Kendal and Colby.
Family and friends may visit, Tuesday 4 to 7 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 702 East Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. A mass of Christian burial will be sung, Wednesday 10 a.m., Assumption Catholic Church, 306 W. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio with Monsignor Mark Froehlich as celebrant. Interment will follow at Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville, Ohio.
