Roy Dean Steele, 69, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Saturday morning, February 4, 2012 surrounded by family at his home. He was born on September 18, 1942 in Somerset Township, Ohio to the late Raymond and Hazel Marie (Farrabee) Steele.
He was a member of the Barnesville First United Methodist Church. He was a retired Methodist minister, EMS driver, truck driver, volunteer at the St. Vincent DePaul and loyal employee and friend of Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home for 20 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Joe Steele.
Roy is survived by his wife, Becky (McCort) Steele whom he married on this day, 50 years ago. Also surviving are three daughters, Marie (Russell) Inherst of Beallsville, Joanne Steele of Jacksonville, Fla. and Yvonne Gloor of Barnesville; three brothers, Jim (Dottie) Steele of Akron, Bob (Sandra) Steele of Fairview and Paul (Sherry) Steele of Kimbolton; one sister, Mary Belle Steele of Louisville, Ohio; four grandchildren, William (Jess) Smith of Knoxville, Tenn., Rebecca Inherst of Beallsville, Alice (Tony) Gordon of Barnesville and Maggie Steele of Jacksonville, Fla.; five great-grandsons ,Austen, Micah, Roy, Eddi and Johnny; the Milburn and Richard Justice family.
Visitation was Monday, February 6, 2012 at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, where services were held Tuesday, February 7, 2012 with Rev. Tom Detling and Rev. Ed Eberhart officiating. Burial followed at Holly Memorial Gardens in Colerain, Ohio.
