Billie June Stimpert, 81, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Friday October 15, 2010 at Barnesville Hospital. She was born August 1,1929 in Marietta, Ohio, a daughter of the late William Virgil Sturm and Pauline Burnside Sturm Latimer.
Billie June taught her children to appreciate great literature, fine art, and classical music. She reared her children in the Methodist Church and laid the foundation of their faith.
Billie was a poet, and the themes of her poetry were what she loved best - her children, her mother, flowers, and nature. She loved having her family around her, and she delighted in birthdays and holidays, because those occasions brought family and friends together. She loved Christmas and will always be remembered for the enthusiasm with which she greeted that season. Over the course of her life, Billie worked as a grocery store cashier, and waitress. She retired when she was diagnosed with Parkinson 's disease. She was a member of the Shady Lane Baptist Church of Barnesville.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father, Robert Latimer, and her husband, Bill Stimpert.
She is survived by two sons Rand (Susanna) Ressler of Novato, Calif., Dan (Linda Graham) Ressler of Barnesville; two daughters, Mona Schlernitzauer Anderson of Laconia, N.H. and Pamela (Tom) McCort of Morristown; two sisters, Anna Lee Lukasko of Wakeman, Ohio, and Nancy Favot of Petaluma, Calif.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and 12 nieces and nephews.
Friends were received Monday, October 18, 2010 at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, 702 East Main St., Barnesville, where services were held Tuesday, October 19 with burial in Hope Cemetery, Hendrysburg, Ohio.
