Margaret E. McCort
1922-2010
Margaret E. McCort, 88, Barnesville, formerly of Somerton, Ohio, died Friday, August 20, 2010 at Barnesville Health Care Center. She was born February 20, 1922 in Somerton, Ohio a daughter of the late Nathan E. and Nora D. (Nicholson) Warfield.
She was a seamstress at Barnesville Manufacturing, a cook at Somerton Schools for 13 years and a clerk at G. C. Murphy Store for 15 years. She was a member of O.E.S. #206 of Barnesville, Past Matron of Somerton O.E.S. #286, Red Hatters, W.S.C.S. and a member of the Somerton United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Albert A. McCort; two brothers, Guy and George Warfield and a daughter, Mary Ann Goodhart.
She is survived by three daughters, Regina (George) Burtnett of Chandlersville, Ohio, Becky (Roy) Steele and Sandy (Joe Sligar) Conway both of Barnesville; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and long-time friends, Doris Burkhart and family.
Visitation and O.E.S. services were Monday, August 23, 2010 at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville where services were held Tuesday, August 24 with Pastors, Jean Cooper and Ed Eberhart officiating. Burial followed at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Somerton United Methodist Church, Hospice of Guernsey or Barnesville Health Care Center Activities Department.
