Jack H. Howell 1938-2010 Jack H. Howell, 72, of Barnesville, Ohio died Friday at Harrison Community Hospital in Cadiz. He was born on June 28, 1938 in Somerton, Ohio to James H. and Emma Jane (Conway) Howell. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University and the owner of the former J. Howell Machine, Inc. He was a member of the Barnesville First United Methodist Church, a former member of the Barnesville Rotary Club, President of the PTO, a member of the BPOE 1699, OSU Alumni Association, and a member of the AOPA. He was a teacher at Belmont Technical College for many years and was a part of the first e-squad in Barnesville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Janis Howell; and a brother, Jerry Howell. Surviving are his wife, Sue E. Shepherd Howell; three sons, Dr. Scott (Dr. Katherine) Howell of San Francisco, Russell (Susan) Howell of Anna, Ohio, and Steve (Donna) Howell of Westerville, Ohio; sister, Joann (Charles) Merritt of Somerton; and eight grandchildren, Caroline, Sidney, Sinjon, Declan, and Caelan Howell, and Kate, Steven, and Chase Hoffman. Visitation was held Monday, August 16, 2010 at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St, Barnesville, Ohio, where services were held Tuesday. Burial followed in Crestview Cemetery.
