David E. "Darby" McGraw, 78, of Morgantown, W.Va., formerly of Bethesda, Ohio, died Friday, April 24, 2009 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born July 3, 1930 in rural Bridgeport, Ohio a son of the late Edward McGraw and Bess Opatrny McGraw.
Darby was affiliate with the Stumptown Long Rifle Shop and a Protestant by faith. He served his country in the US Navy, was a member of the Bethesda Epworth Post #90 American Legion and a member of the Barnesville Elks Lodge #1699.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Emma Paulick McGraw; a daughter, Debbie (Vince) Wineman of Beallsville, Ohio; a son, David (Carol) Kinser-McGraw of Morgantown; a granddaughter, Grace Wineman of Beallsville; a sister, Mary Jane Small of Florida; and a brother, James McGraw of Oregon.
At Darby's request, private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the WVU Rifle team, 2295 Meadows Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505. Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, 322 North Main St., Bethesda, Ohio is handling all arrangements.
