I find my situation strange, but maybe it has happened to other people.

For the 5 years I have lived here, I have used J&J and Waste Management. When they drive past my garbage can sitting out at the end of my driveway, I call concerning this missed pickup. Some Customer Service Representative makes a note about this on my account and I don't get my account credited. I droped J&J for two missed pickups.

Recently I had to deal with Waste Management on a missed pickup. They were willing to send the truck out to just pick up my garbage and no one else on my route. I said that is a waste of fuel and that their truck would be putting out more fumes and various chemicals into the air we breth, so it is not a good thing to do and the economics are all wrong. So I said I can wait until next week, they did pickup the following week. I did not get credited for that missed pickup, yet they were going to spend more money to make good on their pickup, while further harming the environment.

I called back, about getting a credit and was transfered to various places in the region. Finally, I talked to some customer service person and I was told it didn't matter, they had fixed costs involved in their service and that the following week, I would have twice as much trash, which I don't know how much trach I generate every week, sometimes more sometimes less. I said that I contracted for a service that was not provided. Then I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told some different things, like the fixed costs of service were only about 30% of the pickup fees and that they would contact their corporate head quarters in Texas concerning may complaint.

So to sum this up, I contract for a service, when it is not provided, I still have to pay for that service or have them burn more fuel and add more Green House gases along with Dioxin and several other nasty chemicals to our environment. Plus I listened to all of their propaganda about how their were trying to make a Greener World.

What is wrong with these companies?
