Clean air and a future

Recently in the enterprise a letter to the editor was submitted by a local coal operator. He predicted gloom and doom for our nation if the current clean air bill is passed. What will become of our country if it is not passed? We can look to the horizon,if you can see it,and expect business as usual in the good old USA.Mountains in the beautiful state of West Virginia reduced to wastelands. Our streams polluted by "accidental" spills of coal slurry. This does not seem to be a legacy worthy of our children inheriting.Moving toward cleaner sources of energy will not only give our children a chance for a brighter future, but may be enough to lead the world into the next century. For far too long we have been bombarded by the same old draconian speeches about jobs meaning more than the enviorment.Today could be the dawn of a bright future for all.Together Americans can stand behind these brave legislators and change the course of mankind while there is still time. I want to see a brighter tomorrow, I proposed a couple years ago in the Enterprise a 50 year moratorium on any new construction or industrial changes to our area. I nkow of only person who listen to me and contacted me over keep out area beautiful.

Now we have Rockies Express pipeline wanting to blast trenches over the active coal mining areas that belong to Murray Energy.

What next? I was taught in school that We The People of the United States own and run this country, my government teacher in high school must have been on drugs.

When we tell out elected officials what we believe or how we feel, we are ignored.
