Summer swimmers win at Warren
The Barnesville Summer Swim Team traveled to Warren Township to swim against the teams from Warren Township and Moundsville. The team came away with a win. Combined scores were: Barnesville 714-Moundsville Area Aquatic Club 441-Warren Township 399.
"The kids swam very well. I'm a stroke and turn judge, so I look at the details; I thought all the kids had improved their strokes since the beginning of the season. This was a yard pool, so times did get better even when you converted the times. The disqualifications were few and far between," said Assistant Coach Amy Yevincy.
First time crossers were: Emily Baker, Hannah Baker, Breanna Flood, Owyn Wise and Kelsey Leach.
Swimmers of the Week: Krissanna Hanes-Krissanna quietly improves. She works very hard at practice and you can see the difference every time she swims.
Devon Clouse-Devon just makes you smile everyday. His strokes have improved since last year when he started. This week he swam the fly and placed third. Devon also works very hard in practice.
The meet will be at home this Wednesday against Martins Ferry. The meet begins at 6 p.m. The team invites the community to come and see them swim. This week will be the debut of the "short ones" and the Wee 2s.
