Austin Green, 90, passed away on Dec. 31, 2018, in Gainesville, Fla. He was the widower of Lela Green. They shared 61 years of marriage together.
Born in Alledonia, Ohio, he was the son of Roy and Hazel Green. He was a dairymen in Ohio and then moved to Florida where he managed The University of Florida Dairy Research Unit until his retirement in 1991. He was involved in Alachua Lions Club and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Alachua, Florida.
Austin is proceeded in death by his wife, Lela Green, and his brother, Starling Green.
Austin is survived by his children, Luci (Butch) Skipper, Dennie (Kathy) Green and Sue Green, his Grandchildren, Kyle (Kristin) Skipper, Kristin Skipper, Jennifer (Mike) Fetzer, Clark (Carrie) Green, David and Derek Fox.
His memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Concord Presbyterian Church in Centerville, Ohio.
