Trick or Treats set
Trick or Treat in Barnesville will be Oct. 31 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Fairview Council has scheduled the Village of Fairview Trick or Treat on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 6 to 7 p.m. with a weenie roast to follow at the Fire House.
Haunted house set
The annual Barnesville High School Haunted House will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at BHS. Tickets are $5.
Square dance planned
The Union Local FFA Alumni will sponsor a Square Dance on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 8 to 11 p.m. New location this year will be the Wise Building on Belmont County Fairgrounds. Music by Deep Down Country. Concession stand available. Admission is $4 and under 5 is free.
CBAR meeting set
The Concerned Barnesville Area Residents (CBAR) provides our surrounding communities a platform by which to better our local and global environment. All are welcome to attend the next CBAR meeting on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Library Annex, 611 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville.
Leaf pick up
The Street Department will once again pick up leaves that are bagged and left curbside by residents of the Village of Barnesville. The bags must be the biodegradable compostable paper bags. Plastic trash bags will not be accepted. Bags must contain leaves only and will be picked up as time allows. No specific schedule will be followed.
The BHS Class of 1954 will have a luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at noon at Annie K’s restaurant in Barnesville.
The Barnesville Exempted Village Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 6:30 p.m in the middle school cafetorium.
Homecoming and Harvest Festival set
Olney Friends School in Barnesville will have its annual Homecoming and Harvest Festival on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the school starting at 10 a.m. There will be the Olney Distance Run, plus an artisan fair, alumni vs. student soccer game, pumpkin painting and carving, keynote speaker, live music and much more. Gospel meetings set
The Washington Street Church of Christ (52771 Washington St., Beallsville) will host a Gospel meeting Oct. 21-26 with Danny Allen from Bell, Fla. Sunday Morning, Oct. 21 Bible Study at 9:45 a.m. and Worship at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday start time is 7 p.m. On Friday, Oct. 26, there will be a gospel sing at 7 p.m. to conclude the week.
Chicken and ribs dinner set
The Beallsville Volunteer Fire Department will have a chicken and ribs dinner on Sunday, Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. until supplies run out. The event will be at the Firehouse on Washington Street. For information, call 740-926-9226.
Auxiliary having Unique Treats sale
The Barnesville Hospital Auxiliary will be sponsoring a Unique Treats by Jacquie Gourmet Caramel Apple Sale on Friday, Oct. 19 from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Main Lobby.
Blue Star Banner available
The Blue Star Banner is available to any Barnesville area family of a serviceman or servicewoman serving in any branch of the military, including the National Guard (active or reserve). The Barnesville Coin Club meets the third Sunday of every month, except December. The meetings are opo the public and are located at 229 E. Main St., Barnesville.
