Mike Duve of Barnesville has released Volume 2 of the Barnesville Souvenir Coloring Book.

Gracing the cover of this big 8 1/2 x 11, 190 page volume, is a photo of John and Mary Hall. They were a much beloved local couple who owned and operated "Halls Drive In" for many years on Leatherwood Road. Inside is a coloring image of the Hall's Drive In sign with burgers, drinks and ice cream cones.

This volume pays special tribute to the Barnesville High School Graduating Class of 1968, celebrating their 50 year class reunion and the class of 1993, celebrating their 25 year class reunion. Inside are photos, news clippings and a look back at the major events in Barnesville and the world in those years.

This volume also contains dozens of photographs of local businesses and the people who worked there in the 70's and 80's.

Every even numbered page, the pages on the right hand side of the book contains a coloring image. The images range from the very simple, easy for children to color, to the very complex and abstract, sure to challenge the devoted colorist.

The odd numbered pages, the pages on the left side contain photographs, advertisements or news clippings from Barnesville's past. Making the book somewhat of a "hybrid" or a cross between a pictorial history book and a coloring book. This unique approach makes the book interesting to almost everyone of any age who has ever lived in Barnesville.

Among other new coloring images, this edition contains line drawings of one of the Barnesville Fire Trucks, the Gazebo at the Museum, the new Playground in the park, the new State Record Giant Pumpkin from 2017, and four new faces from the Bradfield/First National Bank building.

This book is now available online at Amazon.com and for sale locally. Mike will be selling them during the Pumpkin Festival on Main St. in front of the Sunrise TV Rental store.
