The final show for Showcase 2018 Summer Concerts, in its 35th season, will take place on Thursday, Aug. 23 with a 7 p.m. program. Performing will be Bill Gorby of Mt. Pleasant and Bill Hinson of Cambridge at Community Arts Place on Colonel Drive in Barnesville. The duo will do a variety of alternative country, blues, Americana, and folk music.

Hinson is self-taught as a guitar and harmonica player. He has played at coffee shops and local festivals. Gorby, an acoustic bass player, and Hinson, both do vocals. Gorby did gigs as Big Bill Dup with the Letdowns and in Peaches Little Band. He has also played with the Wheeling Symphony.

A food stand will be open. In case of rain, events will be moved to former Grange Hall. The concert committee is pleased to say that all five shows have been held outdoors this summer. Attendees should bring lawn chairs. Donations are appreciated. Poetry by Carolyn McCort Vetula from Belmont will be featured.
