The Belmont County Historical Society lead a field trip to nearby Track Rocks, Thursday, July 26. Participants will gather at the museum, 532 N. Chestnut St., at 9:30 a.m.

John Boilegh, an anthropologist with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, will lead a field trip to Track Rocks located outside of Barnesville, OH to view the ancient Indian petroglyphs (pictures.) Those interested will meet at the museum at 9 am to car pool to the site. After visiting Track Rocks, the group will return to the museum for refreshments and a discussion of the Indian petroglyphs. The event is free and open to the public. Boilegh is a popular and entertaining speaker as he has led multiple field trips for BCHS groups.
