QUAKER CITY -- Today marks the opening of the 114th Ohio Hills Folk Festival. What started out in 1904 as a small community homecoming has matured into Ohio’s oldest, continuously running festival.

Scheduled activities include:

Everyday

Entertainment: Daily every pm in the Tent and Park Pavilion – Old Time, Folk, Blue Grass, Top 40, County, Square Dancing

Flea Market: Outdoors, come browse and find anything and everything for sale

Craft Hall: Old-time and modern crafts for sale, various demonstrations

Country Store: Handmade items, antique merchandise, souvenirs for sale, homemade ice cream, baked goods and more

Open Daily: Quilt Show, Midway Rides & Games, Folk Festival Kitchen and approximately 20 food concession stands

Wednesday

Pie and Cake Baking Contest, Kiddie Parade, Crowning of Firemen’s Queen, Prince & Princess

Thursday

Bicycle races (up to age 16), free ice-cream in a bag, Magic Show at the Craft Hall or Tent, Pet Show, Frog Jumping Contest

Friday

Crowning of Ohio Hills Folk Festival Queen and Little Mr. and Miss Folk Festival followed by Mile-Long Parade, Tractor Show at Walton Field, free entertainment at two locations

Saturday

Kid’s Games, 5K and 10K Run, Tractor Cruise, Car Show, Queen’s Parade, Duck Race at Leatherwood Creek, Fiddle and Banjo Contest, Square Dance. Festival Concludes with Fireworks display
