BELMONT COUNTY – Starting Wednesday night, March 7, Interstate 70 eastbound will be reduced to one lane from 7 p.m. until 9 a.m. Thursday morning at the $19.5 million, State Route 331 Interchange improvement project.

This lane closure is to switch traffic onto the new bridge and begin demolition of the eastbound bridge on the passing lane side.

Two lanes of traffic will be restored in the eastbound direction by Thursday morning.

ODOT’s contractor, Shelly & Sands Inc., from Columbus, Ohio, began work in April of 2016 on this major interchange improvement project intended to reduce congestion and improve safety. The current completion date for all work is July 31, 2018.
