QUAKER CITY — John and Joyce Butler, 26656 Leatherwood Road, Quaker City, are celebrating their 50th anniversary. A surprise family dinner was celebrated Saturday, March 10.

She is the daughter of the late Guy and Gertrude Flood while he is the son of the late Joseph and Thelma Butler. The couple was married on March 16, 1968, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Temperanceville, OH, with the ceremony performed by Father Schwendelman. Jeannette Hissom was maid of honor and Bobby Butler was best man.

They have three children, John David (Rachel) Butler, Jody (Michael) Williams and Joe Butler. There are five grandchildren, Anthony (Destiny), Annessia (Michael), Alexis, Braden and Brylee. There are two great-grandchildren, Brycin and Raylee.

Mrs. Butler retired from Barnesville Hospital while he retired from the Ohio Dept. of Transportation. They both enjoy playing cards with family and friends and supporting their grandchildren in all they do. They are both members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
