Widows Valentine Luncheon set
The Campbell Plumly Milburn Funeral Home will once again host its annual Widows Valentine Luncheon on Friday, Feb. 9 at 12 noon at the Library Annex on N. Chestnut Street in Barnesville. This event is open to all ladies who have lost their special someone, so spread this invitation. Seating is limited, RSVP to them by or on Monday, Feb. 5, by calling 740-425-1616. Transportation available to those who need it.
No dance planned
There will be no dancing Thursday, Feb. 8 at the Grange Hall for Dancing for a Cause.
Square dance at the fairgrounds
The Belmont Co. 4-H Horse Committee will be holding a square dance on Saturday, Feb. 10 from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Belmont County Fairgrounds. Music will be by Deep Down Country. Open to the public.
American Legion Riders to have benefit
The American Legion Riders will have a benefit on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 5 p.m. at the Barnesville American Legion Post 168. The meal will be Italian sausage sandwich with sides, to go orders are available by calling the Legion at 740-425-9143. There will also be a Chinese Auction. This benefit will go to the Riders Helping Riders charity.
B.A.M.A. Men’s Prayer Breakfast, will be Saturday, Feb. 10 at 8 a.m. at the Main Street United Methodist Church, Barnesville.
Special meeting set
The Village of Bethesda will be having a special meeting on Monday, Feb. 5 at 7:30 p.m. for the reason of approving a resolution to send a Street Levy to the Belmont Board of Elections and discussion of the annual insurance package.
Longaberger basket fundraiser
Crossed Paws Animal Shelter will have its annual Longaberger basket fundraiser bingo on March 10 at the Woodsfield Fire Department. This year, they are changing it up a bit with not only Longaberger baskets, but also including gift cards as prizes. If anyone with a business or a private citizen would like to sponsor a basket or gift card, it would be greatly appreciated. Country store items are also needed. This is their biggest fundraiser of the year and covers operating expenses.
Somerset Township will hold their February monthly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. at the township building. Meeting is open to the public.
Trustees to meet
The Board of Goshen Township Trustees, Belmont County, will meet on the first and third Mondays of the month at 4:30 p.m. The meetings are held at the Township Hall, North Main Street, Bethesda. The public is welcome to attend.
School board meeting
The Switzerland of Ohio Local School Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Swiss Hills Career Center, 46601 SR 78, Woodsfield.
Spring Job Fair set
Belmont College will be hosting a Spring Job Fair on Monday, April 16 from Noon to 1 p.m. at the Main Campus Location in St. Clairsville. Early access will be provided for Belmont College students and alumni from 11 a.m.to Noon. Representatives from local organizations will be available to meet with prospective candidates regarding full-time employment opportunities. The Barnesville Coin Club meets the third Sunday of every month, except December. The meetings are open to the public and are located at 229 E. Main St., Barnesville.
