COLUMBUS - State Senator Troy Balderson (R-Zanesville) announced the approval of $1,475,753.00 in state funds to Ohio University for the construction phase of the Herrold Hall renovations in Zanesville.
"This renovation project is just one more example of Ohio University's continued commitment to preparing its students for success in Ohio’s dynamic workforce," said Senator Balderson.
Specifically, funds will be used to renovate an existing computer lab, classroom space and office space into a nursing bed skills lab, classroom, admissions, administration and faculty office space. These improvements will enhance the educational experience of over two-thirds of the student population who are currently enrolled in the Nursing program.
"We know from our area employers that nursing and healthcare skills are in-demand for today’s jobs, and this grant will allow Ohio University to further develop quality programming for its students with a focus on these skills," added Balderson.
