Charlene Ruth Lenser, of Rocky River, passed away peacefully at her home on Nov. 22, 2017.
She was born June 29, 1931, in Lewisville, to the late Harmon and Thelma Kuhn Scott.
She graduated from Lewisville High School, in 1948, and was a proud alumni of The Ohio State University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and enjoyed a successful teaching career. She especially enjoyed her years at Our Lady of Angels Catholic School, Cleveland, where she taught 7th and 8th grade science for several years.
Charlene was an avid reader, keeping up with current events, politics and pop culture. She enjoyed visiting her family in Monroe County, and loved her grandchildren so much. She was very giving, both in heart and mind.
Charlene is survived by her daughter, Susan Stimpert (Mike) of Woodsfield; grandchildren, Laura McBride (Jason) of Barnesville, and Michael Stimpert (Sarah) of Medina; and one great-grandson, Abel Reed of Barnesville. She is also survived by four brothers, Franklin and Richard Scott, of Columbus, and Eugene and Philip Scott of Lewisville; two sisters, Janet Johnson of Croton, and Nancy Williams (Bob) of Ostrander; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Scott Lambert, three brothers, Jimmy, Jerry and Michael Scott and two sisters, Deborah and Bonnie Scott.
Funeral Mass took place Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 20141 Detroit Rd., Rocky River. Burial followed in the Lakewood Park Cemetery, Rocky River.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
