RICHMOND — Union Local High remained among the ranks of the unbeaten Friday with a 54-0 shutout of the host Edison Wildcats in Buckeye 8 Conference cross-over action.

The Jets wasted no time in setting the tone with three opening quarter scores to build a 21-0 lead.

Bradan Lucas scored the first of his five touchdowns with 9:33 remaining in the opening quarter scampering 38 yards to paydirt and quarterback Ty Kildow connected with Zane Thompson for the two-point conversion.

At the 5:25 juncture, Lucas scored his second TD on a 13-yard run and Kade Clark split the uprights with the PAT boot for a 15-0 lead. Kildow then hit Lucas with an 11-yard scoring strike, but the kick for the extra-point failed providing the 21-0 margin going to the second round.

The Jets (5-0) then tacked on three more scores the second frame with Lucas scoring on an eight-yard run and following that with a seven-yard scoring run before Ben Howell got into the scoring act with a six-yard scoring run with 4:58 left before halftime. Jordan Duke kicked two of the three extra-points following the scores for a commanding 41-0 lead going to the locker room at the halftime break.

Howell then added a second TD run on a one-yard plunge with 9:48 remaining in the third quarter and Clark split the uprights with the PAT to up the margin to 48-0 with 9:48 still showing in the third.

With a lot of new players in the lineup in the final quarter, Josef Bailey rambled 19 yards for the final touchdown of the night, but an attempted PAT pass failed to connect providing the 54-0 final.

Union Local rolled up 475 yards of offense, 348 on the ground and 127 via the airways. Lucas led the ground attack for the Jets with 97 yards on just seven carries with Howell adding 76 yards on 10 tries. Kildow tacked on 58 yards on five carries, Brady Crum had 52 yards on five attempts and Nathan Bomboris chipped in with 41 yards on five carries.

Kildow was perfect on six passing attempts for 118 yards and Zach Bateman was 1-of-1 passing for nine additional yards. Thompson had one reception for 45 yards while Hunter McCort had two grabs for 28 yards and Kildow hauled in one pass for 25 yards, while Lucas had the 11-yard TD reception.

Edison (0-5) managed just 106 yards of offense, gaining just 29 yards on the ground and adding 77 yards passing. Tyler Shrieve led the ground attack with 33 yards on eight attempts and Seth Cade added 21 yards on 10 tries. Kenny Cranston was 8-of-12 through the air for 76 yards and Shrieve completed 2-of-2 for one yard.

Kaleb Waggoner hauled in three passes for 37 yards and Bryce Mcafoose had three grabs for 35 yards.
